August 18, 2009
London, UK; Philadelphia, Lindon, USA; Hyderabad, India: AppLabs, the world's largest software testing and quality management company, and Grid-Tools, a leading vendor of test data management and information lifecycle management software, today announced that they are teaming up to present a joint webinar on 'Meeting Compliance Challenges in Test and Development Environments'. The thirty-minute live webinar will be hosted by AppLabs and presented by Grid-Tools Managing Director, Huw Price on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT, 4:00 PM UK, 8:30 PM IST.
The webinar will be closing-in on some of the issues businesses are facing with meeting compliance regulations in non-production environments. The pressure of data usage by governing bodies like HIPAA, the PCI DSS and SOX has brought about a need for solutions in the industry. This runs alongside the outcome of recent data breaches and compliance issues, like fair and lawful processing, processing minimum data and securing data. The challenges pertaining to compliance in test and development environments range from saving sensitive data to adhering to compliance rules. The webinar is intended to take participants through the following solutions:
- Database Subsetting, creating secure, broken down versions of a production database used for non‐production environments
- Data Masking, using obfuscating functions to anonymize production data so that when it is used in non‐production it is unrecognizable and compliant with regulating bodies
- Synthetic Test Data Generation, through a modelling and sampling process, data that has all of the referential integrity and likeness of production environments is generated from scratch.
