Test Analysts & Senior Test Analysts

Test Analysts & Senior Test Analysts required to join our expanding Consultancy team and to provide Test Management expertise to our client’s projects at locations throughout the UK. The exact details of the role will vary according to the requirements of the each project and assignment.

Job Type – Permanent

Base Location – UK Wide – our Consultants work on a client’s projects throughout the UK, therefore the location of the work will vary and a willingness to travel, working away from home where necessary, is essential.

Roles & Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a Test Analyst is to analyze the system to determine what tests are required in order to achieve the objectives. The Test Analyst must design Test Cases, Test Scripts, and Test Data that address identified Test Requirements, and collate them into an overall Test Design. The role also involves writing detailed Test Scripts and assisting in executing them, recording results and collating test outputs and defects.

The responsibilities of a Senior Test Analyst also involve setting the scope and objectives, and producing the Test Plan. Once the Test Plan is produced, their primary responsibility is to act as a mentor for other Test Analysts, analyzing the system to determine what tests are required in order to achieve the objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience

Test Analysts must:

  • Have a minimum of 12 months testing experience and will be able to analyze test requirements, and design and execute tests
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role testing plays in IT projects and its context within the systems lifecycle
  • Be an excellent communicator and an effective team player

To work as a Test Analyst at a Senior level candidates must:

  • Have several years experience in senior or team leading roles
  • Have a thorough knowledge of testing techniques, and be able to provide creative solutions to optimize test analysis and design in both large and small projects
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of test requirements from both an IT and business perspective

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience of working within Financial Services, Banking or Insurance industry sectors is desirable.

Education & Qualification

Candidates will ideally be:

  • ISEB/ISTQB certified in Software Testing at Foundation level
  • Educated to degree level
