Project Lead - Software Testing

Job Type – Permanent

Base Location – Project Lead staff will be based at our Indian office in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Must be able to independently lead a team of at least 7 - 8 engineers
  • Must be able to provide technical guidance and be the technical "go to" person for the team
  • Must also be able to perform planning, scheduling, tracking and status reporting
  • Supporting pre-sales activities by providing inputs around estimation, approach, domain knowledge etc
  • Enforces changes to test strategy based on the project context
  • Provide ideas to improve the existing test processes commenting about quality of the application under test through factual information
  • Accountable for the test schedules, effectiveness of the testing, morale of the team etc

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 6-8 years
  • Has in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of testing methods, concepts and processes, and practices these independently
  • Able to perform a reliable effort analysis and to prioritize tests
  • Has ability to undertake high level planning and to determine a test strategy
  • Effectively promotes testing techniques and tools in own team
  • Able to carry usability tests and decide which technique to be used
  • Has thorough knowledge of tools for test automation
  • Able to develop complex automated test scripts from a detailed level
  • Has ability to organize test management automation
  • Can develop supportive functions and features
  • Knows and effectively applies project management tools and techniques within the framework of organizational policies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Monitors and escalates resource utilization issues in his project jurisdiction
  • Earned Value Management and Risk Management concepts should be understood thoroughly
  • Monitors project health indicators very closely
  • Responsible for internal as well as external project reporting
  • Accountable for the quality of the deliverables

Proficient in at least in three or more of the following categories:

  • Hardware
  • Operating systems
  • Databases
  • App/web servers
  • Programming languages
  • Functional test automation tools
  • Performance test tools
  • Unit testing tools
  • Should be proficient with one or more project management tools
