AppLabs attains ISO27001:2005 accreditation
AppLabs is first global independent testing company to achieve highest information security certification

Mumbai, India, Philadelphia, USA, London, UK: AppLabs, the world’s largest independent software testing company, today announced that it has been conferred with the prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 certification. Adhering to the strict certification ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of any information flow within an organization. With this, AppLabs is among the few companies globally to be awarded the BS ISO/IEC 27001:2005 accreditation.
ISO27001 is the new international standard for Information Security Management System (ISMS). Replacing BS7799-2, ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is the requirements specification that will enable businesses and organizations throughout the world to develop world class ISMS. ISO27001 is the first in a family of international information security standards that will underpin and protect IT worldwide over the next decade. ISO27001 is designed to harmonize with ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001:1996 so that management systems can be effectively integrated. It implements the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model and reflects the principles of the 2002 OECD guidance on the security of information systems and networks.
The audit for the certification was conducted by BSI Management Systems India Private Limited. They audited AppLabs facilities in India on all critical functions. AppLabs was evaluated for the effectiveness in implementation of information security policies and procedures to protect customers and organization’s confidential information and Intellectual Property. Regular Internal Audits & Surveillance audits by ISO will ensure that the effectiveness is sustained with in the organization.
