Cisco Technology Developer Program IP Communications Program
Process Introduction
This program is geared towards IP Telephony partners who want to expand customer choice with call processing, collaboration, and customer interaction solutions and services. These solutions are based on a Cisco standards-based open architecture that provides enterprises with the foundation for new world converged networks.IP Telephony partner solutions complement and extend Cisco with business applications that improve customer care, lower costs, and increase workforce productivity. These solutions include call accounting and billing, call processing, unified messaging, e-collaboration, and multimedia customer interaction.
Why Interoperability TestingInteroperability Testing by an independent, third-party testing facility adds validation to not only the product tested but also to the architecture and infrastructure. Customers are assured that they can deploy verified IP Communications solutions that interoperate with Cisco software products and network infrastructure products.
Procedures For Interoperability TestingCisco has selected AppLabs as an Independent Testing Center authorized to perform Interoperability Testing for IP Communications Solutions Partners / Affiliates participating in the Cisco Technology Developer Program (CTDP). Participation in this program includes having your IP Communications solution tested by AppLabs. Interoperability testing verifies your product for use with various Cisco software products and network infrastructure products. A flowchart sample of the interoperability testing process is available at: Process Flowchart.
After completing applying for CTDP membership and completing the required product documentation, Cisco will register your product for testing at AppLabs. Each product submitted for testing receives a unique Certification ID. The Product Submission Code is unique to each product AND version verified. Within 24 hours of product registration, a representative from AppLabs will contact you to coordinate payment details (if any), delivery of your product to be tested, and scheduling of your product in the testing lab. The fee schedule is posted here.
You will provide a generally and commercially available version of your product to Cisco and AppLabs. AppLabs will then perform the interoperability testing ensuring that your product meets the criteria and specifications as defined by Cisco. AppLabs will execute the test plan for the particular product category of the solution you have provided. During the testing process, you will have the ability to check the status of the interoperability testing at the AppLabs Certification Portal. Your Testing Status Log is updated in 'real-time' as you request it and will contain a complete record of your product's test history, engineering comments, and any other relevant data pertaining to the testing of your product.
At the conclusion of the interoperability testing, AppLabs will deliver to Cisco a copy of your executed Verification Test Plan (VTP). Once your product has passed interoperability testing and you have completed all required marketing documents, you will be notified of your acceptance into the program. Your Cisco IP Communications Solutions Program Manager will provide you with the appropriate Cisco logo to use. You are also eligible to participate in Cisco sponsored co-marketing events for partners in IP Communications Solutions and Cisco Technology Developer Program related events.
