May 14, 2009
Hyderabad, India; London, UK; Philadelphia, USA: AppLabs, the world’s largest software testing and quality management company, today announced that it will host a live Webinar entitled “Demystifying Web Application Security”. The thirty-minute event will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT / 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM GMT / 8.30 PM - 9.00 PM IST.
Web applications, due to their ease of accessibility, have turned out to be common targets for hackers, despite the defensive devices. Vulnerabilities may be inherent within the application due to flawed design, improper coding practices or configuration errors. These vulnerabilities, if not identified and fixed, could adversely impact the business processes and the reputation of an organization. In the webinar, the host, Rich Corbridge, Head of Security Testing Practice at AppLabs will address these issues and would focus on what web application security is and what it takes to increase the security of a web application. He would also explain the common security misconceptions, the components of a secure web application and the best practices in securing a web application.
This Webinar is aimed at the following roles within organizations:
